Husson/UMF basketball updates-12/1

Husson completes the sweep with an 88-65 win in the men’s game. Butler finished with 24 points, nine rebounds, and six assists. Raheem Anderson added 17 points on 5-9 shooting from three point range.

The Eagles lead 53-33 early in the second half. Trevon Butler has 14 points and six rebounds to lead the Eagles.

Husson (1-1) and UMF (0-3) men’s game will tip in a bit.

McIntyre scored seven of her team high 18 points in the fourth quarter, as the Eagles scored 22 points in the quarter and cruised to a 73-56 win over the Beavers. Worcester and Guerrette scored 15 points each. Smith scored a game high 21 points for UMF. Smith also pulled down 12 rebounds. Kennadi Grover added 13 points. Husson (1-1) will host Maine Maritime on Saturday afternoon, UMF (1-4) will be in Vermont for games Friday and Saturday.

The Beavers had a big third quarter to cut the deficit to 10 (51-41). UMF outscored Husson 21-9 during the quarter, Smith has 16 points, seven rebounds, and two assists for the Beavers. Worcester,Guerrette, and McIntyre have 11 points each for the Eagles.

The Eagles women’s team came out on fire in their home opener. Kenzie Worcester has 11 points on 5-7 shooting in the first half as Husson has jumped out to a 42-20 halftime lead. Chandler Guerrette has nine points and four rebounds, while Victoria McIntyre has recorded eight points and four rebounds in the first 20 minutes.Meghan Smith has five points and four rebounds to lead the Beavers. Husson outscored UMF 23-9 in the second quarter.

The Husson University Eagles and University of Maine at Farmington Beavers play a women’s/men’s basketball doubleheader this evening.
