Patriots clinch first round bye

Tom Brady threw for 267 yards and two touchdowns on 22-35 passing in leading the New England Patriots to a 33-16 victory over the Tennessee Titans at Gillette stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Rob Gronkowski got the scoring started with a five yard touchdown reception.  James White had 71 yards on seven catches, including one touchdown. Joey Iosefa has been on the practice squad most of the season.  Iosefa was the main force in the running game this week. He finished with 51 yards on 14 carries. Stephen Gostkowski made four field goals. The Patriots defense came up big again.  They had five total sacks, including two from Chandler Jones.

The Patriots clinched a first round bye in the playoffs, when the Denver Broncos lost 34-27 to  the Pittsburgh Steelers later Sunday afternoon. The Patriots will finish the regular season with games at the Jets next week, and at Miami in week 17.
