Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 173 past athlete of the week winners.

This week, we had four Rowell’s Garage female athlete of the week nominations. Megan Peach and Katie Batron helped Dexter earn two more wins, as they improved to 7-1 on the season. Peach is the eighth student/athlete from Dexter high school to earn athlete of the week honors. She joins Jordyn Bell (9-22-11), David McKusick (2-11-12), Peyton Watson (9-21-14), Trevor Fogarty (10-20-13), Libby Kain  (4-21-13), Katie Batron (10-5-14) and Brayden Miller (9-20-15). Watson is a three time winner, while Fogarty and Kain each earned the honor twice.

Other nominations include Delani Bennett from Piscataquis community high school and Cassidy Smith from Brewe high school.

Megan Peach- Dexter- basketball- scored 17 points in 46-31 win over Bucksport. Recorded 18 points and eight rebounds in 44-29 win over Stearns.

Runner up

Katie Batron- Dexter- basketball- scored 17 points in 46-31 win over Bucksport.Scored 13 points (5-7 FT) and pulled down seven rebounds in 44-29 win over Stearns.

Other nominations

Delani Bennett- PCHS- basketball- recorded 16 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists in 54-30 win over Penqiis.

Cassidy Smith- Brewer- basketball- scored 20 points, including six three pointers, including five in the first half in 52-38 win over Nokomis.
