Kolleen Bouchard earns fifth Roadrunner Taxi female athlete of the week

Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 177 past athlete of the week winners.

This week, we had 14 Rowell’s Garage female athlete of the week nominations. Kolleen Bouchard filled up the stat sheet in helping Houlton to a quarterfinal victory over Foxcroft. Bouchard, who is only a sophomore, earned her fifth athlete of the week honor.Abi Simpson from Foxcroft Academy was voted as runner up, thanks to a 20 point, 15 rebound, hitting the game winning shot in overtime effort in preliminary round win over Central.

Tia Tardy from Mattanawcook broke an indoor track Eastern Maine PVC record for time in a mile with an amazing 4 minutes, 55 seconds. Other nominations for the week included Jess Girsa from Stearns, Emi Higgins from Hermon,Sydney Allen from Centrsl, Jordynne Littlefield from PCHS, Emmy Churchill from Washburn, Heather Kervin from Winslow,Aspen Flewelling from Houlton,Emily Wheaton/Regan Nelson from Presque Isle, and Kendra Ewer/Grace Bickford from Foxcroft Academy.

Kolleen Bouchard- Houlton- basketball- recorded 23 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and four blocks in 59-52 class B quarterfinal win over Foxcroft.

Runner up
Abigail Simpson- Foxcroft – basketball- recorded 20 points and 15 rebounds, including the game winning basket to beat the buzzer in 48-46 class B north prelim win over Central.

Tia Tardy- Mattanawcook- indoor track- broke the PVC Eastern Maine indoor track league mile mark in 4 minutes, 55 seconds.

Jess Girsa- Stearns- basketball- scored 18 points in 60-39 class C north prelim win over Madawaska.

Emi Higgins- Hermon- basketball- scored 20 points in 54-33 class B north prelim win over Washington Academy. Recorded 15 points and eight rebounds in 49-39 class B north quarterfinal win over MDI.

Sydney Allen- Central- basketball- the sophomore scored 23 points, including 19 in the second half in 48-46 over loss to Foxcroft Academy in class B north prelim game.

Jordynne Littlefield- PCHS- basketball- scored 20 points in 63-35 class C north prelim win over Woodland,

Emily Wheaton- Presque Isle- basketball- recorded 15 points, four rebounds, and two assists in 51-35 class B quarterfinal win over John Bapst.

Regan Nelson- Presque Isle- basketball- recorded 12 points, 11 rebounds, and five blocks in 51-35 quarterfinal win over John Bapst.

Heather Kervin- Winslow- basketball- scored 15 points in 51-44 class B quarterfinal win over Ellsworth.

Aspen Flewelling- Houlton- basketball- scored 13 points, including 3 three pointers in 59-52 class B quarterfinal win over Foxcroft.

Kendra Ewer- Foxcroft- basketball- recorded 15 points (5 three pointers), five assists, and three assists in 59-52 quarterfinal loss to Houlton.

Grace Bickford- Foxcroft- basketball- scored 12 points and pulled down seven rebounds in 59-52 class B quarterfinal loss to Houlton.

Emmy Churchill- Washburn- basketball- scored 23 points, including eight in the fourth quarter in 67-62 class D quarterfinal win over Katahdin.
