In the fourth quarter PVHS turned up the defensive pressure and also got the Tigers into some foul trouble. Giberson fouled out with about five minutes left and Taylor Churchill did the same about a minute later. With two of the offensive weapons out of the game the Tigers had a hard time scoring against the Howlers agressive man to man defense. Samantha Ireland was able to dominate the paint and her eight fourth quarter points and strong rebounding effort allowed the Howlers to pull away. A 12-3 run to start the period gave PVHS a 12 point lead and the Howlers also converted on 9-14 from the foul line to help seal a 13 point win and a date in the regional finals.
