Taylor Schildroth is named Down East Limousine male athlete of the week

Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 178 past athlete of the week winners.

This week, we had 18 Rowell’s Garage athlete of the week nominations. Taylor Schildroth earned athlete of the week, after putting in 32 points in a George Stevens regional final victory over Bucksport. Schildroth is the first student/athlete from George Stevens Academy to be named athlete of the week. Jacob Godfrey put up huge numbers in two tournament games for Machias.

Schildroth’s teammate Max Mattson also got nominated. George Stevens will play in the class C state game on Saturday night. Jacob Flewelling and Jordan Doody from Esston were nominated. The Bears play in the class D state game this weekend.

Down East Limousine male athlete of the week

Taylor Schildroth – George Stevens – basketball- recorded 22 points, five assists, three rebounds, and three steals in 68-39 class C semifinal victory over Schenck. Scored 32 points in 55-43 class C regional final win over Bucksport.

Jacob Godfrey- Machias- basketball- recorded 17 points, 12 rebounds,three steals, and three blocks in 68-26 quarterfinal victory over Shead. Scored 25 points and pulled down 23 rebounds in 67-59 semifinal loss to Southern Aroostook.

Noah Altvater- Southern Aroostook- basketball- recorded 18 points, eight rebounds, and three steals in 51-45 quarterfinal win over Central Aroostook.

Jordan Grant- Machias- basketball- recorded 23 points (4 three pointers), three rebounds, three assists, and three steals in 68-26 quarterfinal win over Shead.

Jarrett Olsen- Washburn- basketball – scored 21 points and six rebounds in 45-41 class D quarterfinal win over Bangor Christian.

Jacob Flewelling- Easton- basketball- scored 26 points (17 in second half) and pulled down eight rebounds in 60-41 class D quarterfinal win over Wosdom.

Max Mattson- George Stevens – basketball- scored 10 points and pulled down 13 rebounds in 73-28 class C quarterfinal win over Fort Kent. Recoded 10 points, 13 rebounds, and three steals in 68-39 semifinal win over Schenck.

Justin Thompson- Schenck- basketball- recorded 26 points, 20 rebounds, and eight assists in 60-59 class C quarterfinal win over Lee. Scored 22 points and pulled down 15 rebounds in 68-39 semifinal loss to George Stevens.

Chris King- Schenck- basketball- scored 18 points (11 in overtime), including the game winning free throws with no time on the clock in overtime in 60-59 win over Lee.

Howie Lin- Lee- basketball- scored 20 points and grabbed six rebounds in 60-59 overtime loss to Schenck,

Mykolas Radionovas- Lee- basketball- recorded 13 points, 12 rebounds, three steals, and three blocks in 60-59 overtime loss to Schenck in class ac quarterfinal game.

Kyle Jackson- Bucksport- basketball- scored 16 points, including 10 in the second half in 47-28 class C quarterfinal win over Dexter,

Riley Macleod- Bucksport- basketball- recorded six points, 18 rebounds, and three blocks in 47-28 quarterfinal win over Dexter.

Jimmy Buzzell- Hodgdon- basketball- scored 24 points (10-13 FT) and pulled down nine rebounds in 45-38 quarterfinal win over Fort Fairfield.

Dadeen Palmer- Hodgdon- basketball- recorded 11 points, 12 rebounds, and three blocks in 45-38 class C quarterfinal win over Fort Fairfield.

Tyler Pye- Bucksport- basketbal- recorded 18 points and 13 rebounds to lead the bucks to the 49-44 Northern Maine semifinal win over Hodgdon. Scored 20 points in 55-43 regional final loss to George Stevens.

Jordan Doody- Easton – basketball- recorded 20 points, 11 rebounds, 4 for 4 from free throws, and three blocks in an Easton OT win against Southern Aroostook in northern Maine class D finals.
