Kelli Kennedy and Kolleen Bouchard share Roadrunner Taxi female athlete of the week honors

Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 180  past athlete of the week winners.

This week, we had two Rowell’s Garage female athlete of the week nominations. Both led their team to state championship victories. They will share Roadrunner Taxi female athlete of the week honors.

Kolleen Bouchard had a big game on Friday night to led Houlton to a state championship for the second straight season. This time it was the class B title, last year Houlton was the state champion in class C. Kelli Kennedy took over in the second half, in leading Narraguagus to their first ever basketball state title. It is the sixth athlete of the week honor for Bouchard and the fourth for Kennedy.

Roadrunner Taxi female athlete of week

Kolleen Bouchard- Houlton- basketball- recorded 21 points, 12 rebounds, three blocks, and two assists in 48-35 class B state championship win over Gray-New Gloucester.

Kelli Kennedy- Narraguagus- basketball- Scored 17 of her 20 points in second half, also record seven rebounds, two assists, two steals, and two blocks in 33-25 class C state championship victory over Boothbay.
