Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 180 past athlete of the week winners.

This week, we had three Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations. Taylor Schildroth earned his second straight Down East Limousine male athlete of the week. Last week, Schildroth helped George Stevens win the regional title. This week, the sophomore helped the Eagles win the state championship. We also had two nominations from Hockey. Brandon Nale (Messalonskee), and Trevor DeLaite (Bangor) each recorded a hat trick and one assist.

Down East Limousine male athlete of the week

Taylor Schildroth- George Stevens- basketball- scored 28 points in 59-46 class C state championship victory over Waynflete.

Runner up

Brandon Nale- Messalonskee- hockey- recorded a hat trick and one assist in 5-4 class B north quarterfinal win over John Bapst.

Other nominations

Trevor DeLaite- Bangor- hockey- recorded a hat trick and one assist in 6-0 class A north quarterfinal win over Westbrook-Windham.
