Central baseball uses balanced attack in win over Lynx

The Central baseball team had seven different players that recorded at least one hit and seven that scored at least one run as the Red Devils rolled to a 10-0 victory over Mattanawcook on Saturday afternoon.

Central started quickly when leadoff hitter Zach Randall ripped a double and came home to score on a single from Ethan Mailman in the bottom of the first inning. The bottom of the second inning also started with a double, this time from Caleb Shaw. He would come home to score on a RBI from Grant Poulin.

The Red Devils added three more runs in the third inning. Mailman delivered the big hit with a double that scored two runs. Poulin added another RBI. Central ended the contest with two runs in the sixth inning and three more in the sixth. Poulin had another RBI in the fifth inning. Shaw hit a double that scored Austin Morency in the bottom of the sixth inning to give the Red Devils a mercy rule victory.

Shaw and Gage Poulin combined for the shutout on the mound. Shaw struck out eight in his four innings, Shaw ripped three doubles. Randall, Mailman, and Dakota Miller also had three hits. Grant Poulin had three RBI, while Mailman recorded two RBI. Randall, Mailman, and Andrew Speed scored two runs each.  Central (3-1) will host Bangor Christian on Wednesday.
