Sam Dexter was drafted by the Chicago White Sox on Saturday. The former Messalonskee three sport standout and star player for Ed Flaherty and the University of Southern Maine baseball team found out he was drafted when he saw his name come across his computer screen. Check out the story from  Travis Lazarxzyk of the  Morning Sentinel.

Dexter is the first former Eastern Maine Sports athlete of the week winner to be drafted by a professional team. Dexter earned the honor on October 6th, 2011 when he scored three touchdowns in a 35 second span to lift Messalonskee to a win over Edward Little.
