Trevor DeLaite earns second Down East Limousine male athlete of the week

Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 190 past athlete of the week winners.

This week, we had six Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations. Trevor DeLaite captured his second Down East Limousine male athlete of the week. DeLaite helped the Bangor Rams win their third straight class A state championship. He also earned the honor when he led the Rams to the 2015 state title. DeLaite joins Allie Boulier (11-4-12), Grace MacLean (10-28-12), and
Justin Courtney (5-19-13) as student/athletes from Bangor high school to be named athlete of the week.

Down East Limousine male athlete of the week

Trevor DeLaite- Bangor- baseball- pitched a three hitter in 8-0 class A north regional final victory over Edward Little. Pitched a three hitter,striking out 10 and walking three in 5-0 class A state title win over Falmouth.

Runner up

Ethan Stoddard-Old Town-baseball-had two hits, three runs scored, and two RBI, also got the pitching victory in 12-2 class B state title win over Freeport.

Other nominations

Kaleb Gifford- Old Town- baseball- allowed only two hits and three walks in complete game shutout in class B regional final victory over

Ryan Hoogterp- Old Town-baseball-had two hits and three runs scored in 12-2 class B state championship win over Freeport.

Cole Daniel- Old Towna baseball-reached base four times, with two hits and four runs scored in 12-2 class B state title win over Freeport.

Kyle Moore- Searsport-baseball -allowed two runs on eight hits and one walk, while striking out four in 10-2 class D state title win over PVHS.
