LINCOLN—- The Dexter Tigers scored 28 consecutive points and rolled to a 28-6 victory on Friday night over Mattanawcook Academy in a class D LTC football game.

The Lynx took a lead when quarterback Carter Ward scored on a one yard touchdown run with 4:40 remaining in the first quarter. That lead didn’t last long as the Tigers responded on their next drive. Chandler Perkins capped things with a touchdown run that evened the score at six.

Tyler Beem gave the Tigers a lead they wouldn’t give back when he scored on a five yard touchdown run with 11:08 remaining in the second quarter. Brayden Miller ran in the two point conversion to give Dexter a 14-6 lead.

The Lynx were putting together a nice drive late in the first half. That drive was abruptly stopped when Zach White intercepted a Ward pass and ran it 99 yards for a touchdown that gave the the Tigers a 20-6 halftime lead.

While the defense was doing their thing, it was the offense that sealed the victory when Miller connected with Jason Campbell for a 65 yard touchdown with 7:29 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Beem finished with 77 yards on 13 carries, Miller had 30 yards on eight carries and 89 yards on 3-6 passing, Dexter (2-0) with play Bucksport next week.
