The University of Maine football team gave up over 500 yards of offense Saturday night in falling to another FBS opponent, the Toledo Rockets, 45-3 at the Glass Bowl in Toledo, Ohio.

Toledo quarterback Logan Woodside threw four touchdown passes of 85, 64, 21 and 89 yards to four different receivers to give Toledo, out of the Mid-America Conference, the lopsided victory.

Cody Thompson also blocked a third quarter punt by Maine and Ronnie Jones picked up the loose ball and went 27 yards for a touchdown.

After a solid outing at Connecticut last week, Maine quarterback Dan Collins was only able to complete 9/25 passes for 64 yards, as the Bears only mustered 235 yards of total offense.

Marquise Adams led the Bears with three catches for 31 yards while Darian Davis-Ray picked up 67 yards on 11 carries to lead the ground game. Christophe Mulumba Tshimanga led the Maine defense with 10 tackles while Sterling Sheffield had five tackles and an interception.

Woodside finished 13/25 for 329 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception for Toledo (2-0). Kareem Hunt rushed 15 times for 66 yards and Corey Jones led the receiving core with three catches for 100 yards and a score.

Maine (0-2) will now take a week off and prepare for their home opener and conference opener when they face nationally ranked James Madison on Saturday, September 24th at noon.
