Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 193 past athlete of the week winners.

This week, we had eight Rowell’s Garage female athlete of the week nominations. Jillian Frost scored five goals to lead the MCI Huskies field hockey to a win over Lincoln Academy. Frost has helped the defending champs start the season 4-0, they have outscored opponents 33-2. Frost, a freshman joins Jonathan Santiago (3) (9-6-14), Nick Hubel (11-3-13), Austin Tolman (9-13-14), Gavin Dugas (10-25-14), Cassie Miller (2-1-15), Willie Moss (9-27-15), Addi Wiliams (10-25-15), and Josh Buker (9-3-16) as student/athletes from Maine Central Institute to earn athlete of the week honors.

Jillian Frost- MCI- field hockey- the freshman scored five goals in 16-1 win over Lincoln Academy.

Alex Allain- Hermon- soccer- recorded a hat trick in 5-2 win over Presque Isle. Scored one goal in 2-1 win over John Bapst.

Searra Herbert- Caribou- soccer- recorded a hat trick in 4-1 win over MDI.

Sophie Webb- Waterville – soccer- recorded a hat trick in 3-0 win over Winslow.

Victoria Friend- MCI- field hockey – recorded a hat trick in 16-1 win over Lincoln Academy.

Abi Allen – Central – soccer – scored two goals in 6-5 win over Dexter.

Emma Campbell- Central- soccer – scored two goals in 6-5 win over Dexter.

Cymeria Robshaw- Penquis- soccer- recorded a hat trick in 3-2 win over Dexter.
