Dillion Drew gets hat trick in Pirates win over Lee Academy

GUILFORD–The Piscataquis Community High School (PCHS) Pirates boys soccer team scored five unanswered goals and cruised to a 5-1 victory over Lee Academy on Monday afternoon.

Hoang Chu gave the Pandas a lead when he got his foot on the ball and put it into the net with 14:03 in the first half. The Pirates responded quickly when Dillion Drew evened the score just 1:01 after the Pandas goal.

The game remained tied until Brian Moulton gave the Pirates a lead with 34:36 remaining in the second half. Drew took a beautiful pass from Cam Kane and put it in to give PCHS a 3-1 lead with 17:56 remaining. Drew finished off his hat trick and gave the Pirates a 4-1 lead with 7:54 remaining. Bryce Gilbert recorded one goal and two assists for PCHS.

Tyler Febus finished with nine saves on 16 shots for the Pirates. PCHS (3-1) will host Foxcroft on Wednesday afternoon. Matty Knowles had 10 saves on 17 shots for the Pandas. Lee (1-2) will host Penquis on Friday.
