Karigen Coffin earns second Roadrunner Taxi female athlete of the week

Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 195 past athlete of the week winners.

This week, We had nine Rowell’s Garage female athlete of the week nominations. Karigen Coffin scored eight goals in a Searsport girls soccer victory to earn her second athlete of the week honor. Coffin was also named Roadrunner Taxi female athlete of the week on September 28th, 2014. She joins Briana Grant (2-9-14), Jake Powell (5-10-14), Melinda Ogden (12-21-14),Troy Reynolds (2-8-15),Brittany Ward (5-16-15), and Bryce Shorey (1-16-16) as student/athletes from Searsport high school to be named athlete of the week.

Karigen Coffin- Searsport- soccer- scored eight goals in 12-0 win over Deer Isle-Stonington.

Runner up

Grace Bickford – Foxcroft- soccer – had two goals in 3-0 win over PCHS. Had one goal and one assist in 2-0 win over Dexter.

Other nominatione

Lexi Ireland- PVHS- soccer- recorded a hat trick in 6-3 win over Bangor Christian.

Camryn Rolfe- Penquis- soccer – recorded a hat trick in 5-0 win over Central.

Alivia Hunt- PCHS- soccer- recorded 20 saves on 34 shots in 3-0 loss to Foxcroft.

Allysah Greene- Nokomis- field hockey- scored four goals in 8-0 win over Waterville.

Jewel Lamb- PCHS- field hockey- scored two goals in 2-1 win over Orono.

Kiara Prescott- Foxcroft- soccer- recorded 10 saves in 2-0 win over Dexter. Recorded 10 saves in 3-0 win over PCHS.

Ali Bourget- Foxcroft- field hockey- scored four goals in 8-0 win over Mattanawcook.
