Zac Duncans 2 4th Quarter Touchdowns propel Brewer past Cony

Brewer- Down 34-28 going into the 4th quarter Brewer was looking to avoid an upset in a Class B North Semi-Final matchup against #6 Cony, Zac Duncan answered the call as he scored two touchdowns which propelled Brewer past Cony 44-34.

Cony started the scoring off with and 81 yard bomb from Taylor Heath to Elijah Dutil, which was the first of 4 connections between the duo. Brewer didn’t get on the board until the second quarter, where Senior Running Back Tyler Wood ran in for a 13 yard touchdown which put Brewer up 8-7, the final minutes of the half were thrilling as Conys Taylor Heath found Jordan Roddy for a touchdown with 47 seconds left, but Brewer answered back immediately when Cody Wood found Tyler Haffrod in the end zone with no time left which put them up 22-20 going to the half.

Brewer would go up 28-20 before Cony answered back with two touchdowns both from Elijah Dutil. That was the last of Conys offense, as they were shut out in the 4th Quarter as Brewers defense sacked Heath twice and picked him off. Brewer after Duncans two 4th quarter Touchdowns advance to the Class B Northern Maine Finals next Friday in Brunswick.

Rams Quarterback Taylor Heath went 17 for 33 with 314 yards and five Touchdowns and three interceptions. Dutil lead all receivers with four Touchdowns and 159 yards. Taylor Heath also recorded two interceptions on defense.

The Witches racked up over 330 yards rushing, with Tyler Woods leading the way with 238 yards on 36 carries, Ireland had 48, and Duncan with 45 and three Touchdowns. The defense stepped up forcing five sacks and picking off Cony three times.
