Tyler Beem is named McGuire Seasonal Services male athlete of the week

Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 201 past athlete of the week winners.

This week, we had four Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations. Tyler Beem sparked third seeded Dexter to a class D semifinal win over Orono. Beem joins Jordyn Bell, David McKusick, Peyton Watson (3),Trevor Fogarty (2),Libby Kain (2),Katie Batron, Brayden Miller,Megan Peach, Hannah Dorman, and Zachary White as student/athletes from Dexter high school that have earned athlete of the week honors.

Tyler Beem- Dexter- football- scored two touchdowns, including the go ahead touchdown in 21-15 class D semifinal win over Orono.

Runner up

Josh Buker- MCI- football- totaled over 200 yards and two touchdowns in 41-8 class D semifinal win over Bucksport.

Other nominations

Jake Warn – Winslow- soccer- had two goals in 3-1 class B regional final win over John Bapst.

Graham Good- MDI- football- scored two touchdowns in 20-6 class C semifinal win over Oceanside.
