St. Joe’s sweeps Maine Maritime in basketball doubleheader

Kelsi McNamara scored 17 points and dished out nine assists in leading then St. Joseph’s College women’s basketball team to a 64-48 win over Maine Maritime on Tuesday evening. Alayne Felix led the Mariners with 12 points.

In the men’s game, Darien Berry made a free throw to give St. Joe’s a 67-66 lead with 2:41 remaining. Berry followed that up with a three pointer that gave the Monks a four point lead with 2:02 left.

St. Joe’s held on for the 73-71 win. Marc Corey led the way for the winners with 16 points, four rebounds, and four assists. Brandan Newcomb scored a game high 24 points for he Mariners. Nicholas DePatsy came off the bench to score 15 points in 22 minutes.
