Messalonskee Wrestling – Independents practice and travel with Skowhegan. Austin Pelletier became the first Messalonskee wrestler to place at the StateTourney last season.

Expectations

We expect our wrestler’s to work hard day in and day out, in the classroom and in the wrestling room. This is a brand new season with a whole new line up,if the team commits to work hard and improve daily, then they will be successful.

Strengths

The strengths of this team is the experience of its veterans and the grit of the younger wrestler’s. Our veterans understand what it takes to reach a high level of success and stay healthy along the way, with their leadership our younger wrestler’s will be making some noise in no time.

Challenges

As with every high school team the largest challenge will be the numerous outside distractions that surround teenagers. The first week of practice is disrupted by Thanksgiving, the middle of the season is disrupted with Christmas and New Year’s. As coaches we need to keep these young men and women focused on keeping their grades up and making smart decisions in and out of the classroom, and outside the practice room.
