School, sport, record from last year. Waterville/Winslow Swim Team. This is our first year as a co-op team.

Expectations– By combining teams, I expect to see much more success in our relay teams. During the first week of practice, I saw how hard the swimmers are willing to work and as such I see some fast times later this season. We should have several swimmers qualify for states.

Strengths– The team should do well in events with an IM focus and distance events.

Challenges– Last season, Waterville and Winslow practiced together at the same time so the athletes know each other well. What we all need to get used to is that our two teams have combined and we now represent both Waterville and Winslow. The kids have been great about it. The hardest thing so far has been designing the swim cap and our team shirt. Additionally, the team is now class A so the swimmers are going to need to be a bit faster to qualify for states this year.

Key Players/Position– Leah Shoulta will look to improve upon her 200 IM and 100 back. Elyse St. Pierre should do well in middle to long distance freestyle. John Reisert will work to improve his ranking at states this year in the 200 IM and 500 free. Look out for Carter Jones to do well in the butterfly.
