Taylor Schildroth earns fourth McGuire Seasonal Services male athlete of the week

Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 205 past athlete of the week winners.

This week, we had 10 Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations. Taylor Schildroth was a big part in George Stevens defeating PCHS and Ellsworth as the Eagles improved to 3-0 on the season. This is the fourth athlete of the week honor for Schildroth. He was named athlete of the week in back to back weeks, during the class C basketball tournament this past February. Schildroth recorded a hat trick to help the Eagles pull off a upset over Orono during the class C north soccer tournament in October.

Taylor Schildroth- George Stevens- basketball- recorded 27 points, eight rebounds, six steals, and two assists in 80-49 win over PCHS. Scored 25 points in 74-67 win over Ellsworth.

Runner up

Nate Desisto- Orono – basketball- scored 35 points in 71-49 win over Mattanawcook.

Other nominations

Bryce Gilbert- PCHS- basketball- recorded 28 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals in 80-49 loss to George Stevens. Had 25 points in 68-60 loss to Greenville.

Zach Hartsgrove- Nokomis- basketball- scored 22 points in 59-55 win over Lawrence. Scored 21 points in 79-54 win over MCI.

Dean Grass- Bangor Christian – basketball- scored 35 points in 67-48 win over Katahdin.

Riley Russell- Woodland- basketball- scored 39 points in 98-75 win over Narraguagus.

Zane Bielenberg-Belfast- basketball- scored 24 points in 68-64 overtime win over Mount View.

Zach White- Dexter- basketball- recorded 15 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals in 49-26 win over Schenck.

Brayden Miller- Dexter- basketball- recorded six points, nine rebounds, seven assists, and two steals in 49-26 win over Schenck.

Justin Thompson- Schenck- basketball- recorded 16 points, 15 rebounds, and two steals in 49-26 loss to Dexter.
