Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 208 past athlete of the week winners.

This week, we had 10 Rowell’s Garage female athlete of the week nominations. Lily Gray averaged 16.3 points per game in leading the Deer Isle-Stonington Mariners to a 4-0 week. Gray is the first student/athlete from Deer Isle-Stonington high school to earn athlete of the week honor.

Lily Gray– Deer Isle-Stonington- basketball- the sophomore had 13 points (3 three pointers), five rebounds, and three steals in 51-23 win over Highview Christian. Recorded 19 points, three steals, and two assists in 54-37 win over Bangor Christian. Scored 24 points (6 three pointers) in 64-33 win over Machias. Scored 12 points in 37-35 win over Greenville.

Runner up

Sydney Allen – Central – basketball-recorded 14 points,four rebounds, four steals, and three assists in 54-49 win over John Bapst. Recorded 17 points, four assists, and three steals in 47-42 overtime win over Presque Isle. Allen scored the last six of her team’s points in overtime, going 6-6 from the free throw line. She was a key part of the two big wins this week against conference rivals. Central is 6-1.

Libby Cook- Central- basketball- scored 17 points and pulled down eight rebounds in 54-49 win over John Bapst.

Abi Allen- Central- basketball- had 16 points, four rebounds, and three steals in 54-49 win over John Bapst.Had nine points (including four in overtime), four rebounds, four assists, and two steals in 47-42 overtime win over Presque Isle.

Crystal Bell- John Bapst – basketball-scored 25 points (5 three pointers) and pulled down nine rebounds in 54-49 loss to Central.

Katie Hutchinson- Deer Isle-Stonington- basketball- the freshman came of four the bench to record 14 points, 13 rebounds, six steals, and two assists in 51-23 win over Highview Christian.

Holly Preston- Shead- basketball- had 20 points and 10 assists in 49-36 win over East Grand. Scored 19 points in 58-26 win over Jonesport-Beals.

Lanie Perry- Narragusgus- basketball- scored 21 points in 74-27 win over Sumner.

Emma Alley-Stearns- basketball- scored 26 points (4 three pointers) in 59-31 win over Dexter.

MacKenzie Carter- Stearns- basketball- scored 12 points in 59-31 win over Dexter.
