Megan Peach earns second Roadrunner Taxi female athlete of the week

Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 209 past athlete of the week winners.

This week, we had 11 Rowell’s Garage female athlete of the week nominations. Megan Peach turned in a dominating performance in helping Dexter hand Stearns their first loss of the season. It is the second athlete of the week honor for Peach. She also earned the honor on December 26th, 2015.

Megan Peach- Dexter- basketball- recorded 32 points (including 1000 career point), 17 rebounds, five blocks, two assists, and two steals in 48-32 win over Stearns.

Runner up

Alexis Ireland- PVHS- basketball-recorded 17 points (12 in fourth quarter), 17 rebounds, five steals, one assist, and one block, and made game winner free throw with 4 seconds remaining in 39-38 win over PCHS. The win sent the Howlers to the class C tournament.

Aspen Flewelimg- Houlton- basketball- scored 23 points in 64-40 win over Calais. Scored 14 points in 52-46 win over Hermon.

Kolleen Bouchard- Houlton- basketball- scored 22 points in 64-40 win over Calais. Scored 27 points in 52-46 win over Hermon.

Grace Philippon- John Bapst- basketball- scored 23 points in 60-52 loss to Ellsworth.

Kayli Cunningham- Dexter – basketball- scored 13 points and pulled down five rebounds in 48-32 win over Stearns.

Emma Alley- Stearns- basketball- recorded 19 points, 10 rebounds, five steals, and four assists in 48-32 loss to Dexter.

Baileigh Osborne- Schenck- basketball- scored 17 points in 34-27 win over Penquis.

Morgan Dauk- George Stevens – basketball- scored 23 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in 45-25 win over George Stevens. Scored 18 points in 47-39 win over Penquis.

Cassidy Lessner- Highview Christian- basketball- scored 19 points (10 in fourth quarter), 10 rebounds, and block in 39-34 upset win over Forest Hills.

Sydney Allen- Central- basketball- recorded 14 points, three rebounds, three steals, and three assists in upset victory over Foxcroft.
