Cross Center is Tourney Ready as Bapst Girls Roll by Ellsworth to Advance to Quarter-Finals

BANGOR—- In three days the Cross Insurance Center will be filled with teams and their fans who are vying for the Gold Ball, but today it was host to a Class B Preliminary matchup between the #7 John Bapst Lady Crusaders and the #10 Ellsworth Eagles. The Outcome:  John Bapst came out on top 55-37 as they will get a date with Presque Isle on Saturday.

The Lady Crusaders never trailed as they were solid from start to finish. Bapst was led by junior Crystal Bell who had a team high 22 points and 10 rebounds, while shooting 11 for 12 from the line, junion Grace Philippon put up 18 points and shot 8 for 12 from the line. As a team the Lady Crusaders shot 23 for 34 from the line, had seven steals and nine turnovers.

For the Eagles, senior Samantha Mason led the team with 22 points, followed by Abby Moon who had five. As a team the Eagles also had seven steals and nine turnovers.

Up next for the Lady Crusaders they will face off against the #2 Presque Isle Wildcats in a Quarter-Final Matchup on Saturday at the Cross Insurance Center. Tip-off expected at about 9:05am.
