Easton girls roll to quarterfinal win over Deer Isle-Stonington

BANGOR– The Easton Bears went on a 15-0 that started in the first quarter and ended in the third quarter en route to Maine Principals’ Association class D North girls quarterfinal win over Deer-Isle Stonington on Monday evening at the Cross Insurance Center.

Easton held an 8-5 lead late in the first quarter. Delaney Leach made a free throw to give the Bears a 9-5 lead to end the first quarter. Easton continued the run by shutting out the Mariners in the second quarter and scoring the first basket of the third quarter.

Isabelle Morin led the Bears with 16 points (8-9 FT), Elise Allen added 12 points, eight rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Sara Gilman scored seven points and pulled down six rebounds. Easton (11-8) will
play a semifinal game on Thursday, February 23rd at 8:35 PM.

Lily Gray scored 12 points (four 3-pointers) to lead the Mariners. Katie Hutchinson added 11 points and seven rebounds. Deer Isle-Stonington finishes the season with a record of 11-8.
