Red Sox take down Cubs with big eighth inning

The Boston Red Sox scored four runs in the eighth inning and defeated the Chicago Cubs 6-2 at Fenway Park on Sunday night.

Hanley Ramirez smashed a two run home run to give the Red Sox a lead in the first inning.

Eduardo Rodriguez fired six strong innings. He allowed one run on two walks, while striking out nine.

Andrew Benintendi had two runs scored and two hits. Ramirez also scored two runs. Matt Barnes pitched a scoreless eighth inning to improve to 3-0 on the season. 

The Red Sox will open a four game series against the Orioles on Monday night.
