Bangor legion team pounds out 15 hits in mercy rule win at Northeast Regional

Ethan Stoddard went 3 for 4 with four RBI and the Coffee News Comrades scored nine first inning runs Wednesday morning, en route to a seven inning mercy shortened 15-4 win over Franklin County Post #1 out of Vermont in the opening game of the American Legion Northeast Regional at Worcester, Massachusetts.

Tyler Parke, Zach Cowperthwaite, Zach Ireland, and Jesse Colford all had two hits each as the Comrades pounded out 15 hits in the seven inning win.

Gary Farnham earned the win on the mound giving up only one earned run, five hits, two walks, with four strikeouts in seven innings thrown.

Coffee News is now 19-6 overall and will face either Stamford, Connecticut or Rochester, New Hampshire tomorrow at 4:30 p.m in a winners bracket game. Franklin County Post #1 is making their first regional appearance in 83 years.
