John Bapst 2017 football preview

John Bapst Crusaders (Football) 2016 record- 1-7 Class C North

Info provided by John Bapst coach Dan O’Connell

We expect to improve this year. We have had a great summer and the kids are working hard to be more able, skilled, physical football players. We hope that will translate into a more competitive team.

Our strength will be with our skill positions. Almost all of the starters on those positions on Offense and Defense return. With 11 seniors, all of whom have played meaningful time over the last three years leadership and experience should be a strength also.

Our biggest challenge, like so many is numbers and depth, We will have between 30-35 kids but would always love to have more. Plus the league as whole is always tremendous. The old perennial powers, MCI and Nokomis, and Medomak joining the league, and crossovers with rivals will make the leagues schedules challenging and exciting.

Schedule: The Crusaders open the season at home against Mattanawcook. They follow with road games at Hermon and Old Town.  Click here for the full schedule.
