Kaitlyn Webber leads Dexter field hockey to homecoming win

DEXTER—- Kaitlyn Webber recorded two goals and two assists to lead the Dexter Tigers field hockey team to a 4-0 win over Orono (5-8) on Saturday afternoon in the finale on homecoming day at Dexter.

Dexter only held a 1-0 lead at the half despite controlling play and having eight corner attempts. Hayley Rossman got that first half goal on an assist from Webber with 16:45 remaining.

The game remained 1-0 until Aubrey Godin set up Webber with 17:20 left in the second half. Cheyenne Beem made it 3-0 with 14:52 remaining, while Webber closed out the scoring in the final minute of the contest. The second Webber goal was also assisted by Godin.

Dexter (12-1) will next play on Tuesday afternoon when they host Winslow. The Black Raiders handed the Tigers their lone loss of the season last week. The game can be heard live at Eastern Maine Sports Broadcasting starting at 3:25 PM.
