Alex Allain earns second Charles Inn female athlete of the week

Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 237 past athlete of the week winners.

This week, we had 11 Rowell’s Garage female athlete of the week nominations. Alex Allain scored five goals in two games to lead the Hermon Hawks to the class B quarterfinals. Allain also earned athlete of the week honors on November 1st, 2015.

The Charles Inn female athlete of the week

  • Alex Allain- Hermon- soccer- recorded a hat trick, including her 100th goal in her high school career in 6-3 win over Old Town. Scored two goals in 4-0 class B prelim win over Mount View and now has 105 in her high school career.

  • Hayley Rossman – Dexter- field hockey- recorded a hat trick in 7-0 class C quarterfinal win over Orono. Recorded a hat trick in 4-2 class C semifinal win over Boothbay.

Other nominations 

  • Cymeria Robshaw- Penquis- Soccer- scored three goals in 8-2 win over Mattanawcook.
  • Camryn Rolfe- Penquis- Soccer – scored two goals and had one assist in 8-3 win over Mattanawcook.
  • Sydney Allen – Central – soccer- scored two goals, including game tying goal on a penalty kick late in the second half in 2-2 tie against Orono.. Allen led the 10-3-1 Red Devils with 24 goals and 14 assists.
  • Kiara Prescott- Foxcroft- soccer- had 22 saves in 1-0 double overtime win over John Bapst.
  • Cheyenne Beem- Dexter- field hockey- had three goals and one assist in 7-0 quarterfinal win over Orono.
  • Kaitlyn Webber- Dexter- field hockey- had one goal and two assists in 7-0 class C quarterfinal win over Orono.
  • Addi Williams- MCI- field hockey- had three goals and one assist in 7-0 class B quarterfinal win over Hermon. Scored two goals including the game winning goal with 22 seconds left in the second overtime in 3-2 class B semifinal win over Belfast.
  • Chelsea Crockett- Nokomis – field hockey- had 13 saves in 2-0 quarterfinal win over number one seed and previously undefeated Winslow.
  • Sophie Weston- Waterville- Soccer- scored two goals and had one assist in 4-0 class B quarterfinal win over Foxcroft.
