Tessa Solomon earns Charles Inn female athlete of the week

Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 239 past athlete of the week winners.

This week, we had four Rowell’s Garage female athlete of the week nominations. Tessa Solomon made 12 saves, including two big ones late in the game to secure a 1-0 state championship win for Houlton. Solomon joins Kyle Bouchard (4) (1-3-16),Jimmy Fitzpatrick (10-14-12),Kolleen Bouchard (13) (10-29-17),Natalie Hill (9-27-15), and Seth Holston- (9-11-16) as student/athletes from Houlton high school that have earned athlete of the week honors.

The Charles Inn female athlete of the week

  • Tessa Solomon- Houlton- soccer- made 12 saves, including two diving stops in the second half to secure,1-0 class C state title win over Madison.

Runner up

  • Morgan Doughty – Ashland- Soccer- recorded three goals and two assists in 5-1 class D regional final win over PVHS.

Other nominations

  • Kolleen Bouchard- Houlton- soccer- scored the only goal in 1-0 class C state title win over Madison.
  • Kassie Krul- Camden Hills- soccer- scored two goals in 3-2 class B state title win over Scarborough.
