November 18, 2017

Carlos Gonzalez had his second straight big game for the Thomas men’s basketball team. This time it wasn’t enough as the Terriers second half rally fell short in a 73-65 loss against Pine Manor on Saturday afternoon.

Pine Manor built a 39-24 halftime lead. Thomas went on an 11-2 run to start the second half and cut the deficit to 41-35. Thomas got it down to five (52-47) on a Willie Grant layup with 5:08 remaining. Grant made a three pointer to get it down to five (56-51) again with 3:15 left. Justin Butler made two free throws to get Thomas within 58-55 with 2;06 remaining. Pine Manor put the game away with 8-8 from the free throw line in the last two minutes.

Thomas defeated Machias in their season opener on Friday night behind a triple double from Gonzalez.
