Maine men’s basketball drop to 0-4 with overtime loss to Sacred Heart

The University of Maine men’s basketball team fell 69-68 in overtime to Sacred Heart at Mohegan Sun on Sunday afternoon.

Ilker Er recorded 20 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Black Bears. Aaron Calixte put in 18 points, while Ilija Stojiljkovic chopped in with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

EJ Anosike put in a tip in with 2;52 left in overtime to give Sacred Hears a 65-64 lead. They would keep the lead the rest of the way. Sean Hoehn made two free throws to seal the victory. Sacred Heart had four players finish in double figures.

Maine (0-4) will host Boston University on Wednesday afternoon at the Cross Insurance Center.
