Luis Ayala is the wrestling and boys soccer coach at Foxcroft Academy. Ayala is now the most valuable coach in the nation.
Last week, Ayala won a nationwide vote of 14 other finalists and himself by a wide margin. On Monday, US Cellular announced Ayala as the winner.
Ayala has coached at Foxcroft for the past 18 years, including being a state champion wrestling coach, being named coach of the year, and building up over 400 wins. Now he can add Nationwide coach of the year to his resume. With the win, Ayala earned $50,000 for the Dover-Foxcroft community.
