Bryce Gilbert is Eastern Maine Sports 2017 Boys Soccer Player of the year

Bryce Gilbert was the coaches pick for Penobscot Valley Conference (PVC) class C player of the year. On Saturday, the senior from Piscataquis Community high school (PCHS) was named Eastern Maine Sports boys soccer player of the year. Gilbert recorded 16 goals and 11 assists this season. In his four years, Gilbert had 66 goals and 35 assists.

A total of 9437 votes came in, with Gilbert receiving 63 percent of those. Garth Berenyi from Bangor finished as runner-up. Full results are below. Gilbert will be in the voting for November athlete of the month starting December 2nd. Addi Williams (MCI) was named field hockey player of the year.Logan Thompson (Mattanawcook) was named 2017 golfer of the year.
