Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 242 past athlete of the week winners.

This week, we had seven Rowell’s Garage female athlete of the week nominations. Gabby DePatsy had a big game in helping Medomak Valley get an overtime win over Gardiner in their season opener. DePatsy is the first student/athlete from Medomak Valley high school to earn athlete of the week honors.

Gabby DePatsy- Medomak Valley- basketball- scored 30 points and pulled down 11 rebounds in 66-61 overtime win over Gardiner.

Sydney Allen-Central- basketball- recorded 24 points, eight assists, five steals, and three rebounds in 74-26 win over Sumner.

Other nominations

Abi Allen- Central- basketball- recorded 19 points, five rebounds, and two assists in 74-26 win over Sumner.

Emilee Cohen- Central- basketball- scored 14 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in 74-26 win over Sumner.

Madi Speed- Central – basketball-recorded six points, seven rebounds, and five steals in 74-26 win over Sumner.

Megan Cote- Ashland- basketball- scored 20 points in 50-33 win over Easton,

Kimberly Voisine- Mattanawcook- basketball- recorded 21 pts, four rebounds, four assista, and four steals in 53-42 win over PVHS.
