George Stevens overtime win over Bucksport highlights Tuesday’s basketball action

The defending two time class C boys basketball state champion George Stevens Eagles were playing without Max Matteson on Tuesday night. With the Eagles center on the bench, Taylor Schildroth took over. Schildroth scored 38 points, including eight three pointers in a 69-66 win at Bucksport.

In other boys basketball action, MDI scored 49 second half points and cruised to a 79-43 win over Washington Academy.

Hermon went on a 14-0 run to start the second quarter and held off Foxcroft Academy for a 50-40 win.

In girls basketball action, class C Houlton earned a 65-53 win over class B Caribou. Kolleen Bouchard scored 23 points, and came one assist shy of a triple double, while Aspen Fleweling scored 21 points for the Shires.

Medomak Valley improved to 4-0 with a 60-47 win over Morse. Gabby DePatsy led the way for the Panthers with 16 points and 12 rebounds.
