Former Celtic leads Heat to win over Boston

Miami Heat forward Kelly Olynyk scored a career high 32 points Wednesday night in his first game back in Boston, to lead the visitors from South Beach to an 90-89 win over the Boston Celtics at TD Garden.

Kyrie Irving had a shot in the final seconds, but his jumper came up short as Boston falls to 27-8. Boston nearly erased a nine point deficit in last 2:15, but came up just short. Irving finished with 33 points, four rebounds, and five assists. Jaylen Brown had 16 points and four rebounds. Marcus Smart had five three-pointers and had 15 points and six rebounds.

Olynyk had seven rebounds to go along with his career high in points. Jason Richardson added 19 points, four rebounds, and six assists for 16-15 Miami.

Boston travels to MSG Thursday night in New York to battle the Knicks at 8 p.m.
