Below are the nominees for the 2017 Eastern Maine Sports moment of the year. Voting is open starting at 6 PM on December 23rd until noon on December 31st. You can vote up to 10 times per hour. Brayden Miller hits walk-off homer to give Dexter baseball semifinal win over Fort Kent.
Orono baseball scores four in the bottom of the seventh to get state championship win over Lisbon.
MCI football moves up to class C and wins second straight state title.
Houlton girls soccer wins first state title in 30 years.
Mitchell Philbrook hits walk-off homer in the bottom of the ninth inning to cap off comeback win for Searsport in class D baseball state championship win over Bangor Christian. Third straight state title for the Vikings.
14-year-old freshman Leine McKechnie pitched a no hitter, striking out 11, and hit a three run home run in the 7th inning to secure class D softball state title for PVHS over Richmond. It snapped an 88 game winning streak for Richmond.
Bryce Gilbert becomes first student/athlete from PCHS since 2000 to reach 1000 points
MCI field hockey moves up to class B and wins second straight state title.
Foxcroft Academy soccer and wrestling coach Luis Ayala wins national Most Valuable Coach award
