Cosgrove to leave UMaine

It was learned on Friday afternoon that the all time winningest coach in Maine football history, will leave his current post at the University to become to head fooball coach at Colby College in Waterville.

Jack Cosgrove, who most recently is in the position of senior associate director of athletics, announced he will leave that current post officially on January 5.

“Athletics, particulary football here at the University of Maine, has been my life’s work. I have played, coached and provided leadership here for 36 years,” said Cosgrove.

Cosgrove won 129 games in 23 years as head coach from 1993-2015. He also coached in the most games in school history (264). He led Maine to three conference titles, and five NCAA playoff appearances.
