Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 245 past athlete of the week winners.
This week, we had six Rowell’s Garage female athlete of the week nominations. Kolleen Bouchard averaged over 30 points in two games to help the Houlton girls basketball team stay undefeated. Bouchard edged out Sydney Allen (Central) for the Charles Inn female athlete of the week. It is a record 15th time overall and second week in a row, Bouchard has been named athlete of the week. Justin Thompson 9 (Schenck), Gage Feeney 7 (Washington Academy), Taylor Schildroth 7 (George Stevens) are next on the list for most AOW honors.

Kolleen Bouchard- Houlton- Basketball- recorded 35 points, seven assists, and four rebounds in 64-42 win over Stearns. Scored 26 points in 65-26 win over Mattanawcook.
Runner up
Sydney Allen- Central- Basketball- recorded 21 points, five rebounds, four assists, and three steals in 55-23 win over Searsport. Recorded 27 points, five assists, four rebounds, and three steals in 63-42 win over Penquis.
Other nominations
Emily Wheaton- Presque Isle- basketball- scored 26 points, including five 3-pointers in 72-50 win over Ellsworth.
Chelsea Crockett- Nokomis- Basketball- recorded 16 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists in 51-45 win over previously unbeaten Medomak Valley.
Cassy Coombs- Bucksport- basketball – scored 28 points, including 6 three pointers in 57-46 double overtime loss to Dexter.
Avery Herrick- Dexter – basketball- scored 19 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in 48-29 win over Stearns.
