Maine mens hockey extends unbeaten streak with tie at Brown

The #20 University of Maine mens ice hockey team extended their unbeaten streak to nine games Monday night, with a 4-4 tie with Brown at Meehan Auditorium in Providence, Rhode Island.

Chase Pearson tied the game with just 5:34 left in regulation as Maine moved their overall record to 11-7-2. The Black Bears held leads of 1-0 and 3-2, before Brown answered each time.

Pearson had two goals and an assist on the night. Mitch Fossier had a goal and two assists. Brady Keeper had the other Maine goal. Eduards Tralmaks added two assists. Rob McGovern started in goal and made 26 saves on 30 shots.

Brent Beaudoin had a goal and two assists for Brown (5-8-3). Tyler Bird, Anea Ferrario, and Tim Lappin scored the other Bears goals. Luke Kania made 31 saves on 35 Maine shots.

Maine will get back into Hockey East play when they travel to Boston to battle Northeastern Friday and Saturday night at 7 p.m.
