Sydney Allen to play basketball at Husson University

In a press release on Tuesday, Husson University announced that Sydney Allen will be attending Husson University and playing basketball.

Allen is currently a senior at Central high school, where she has helped the Red Devils to a 15-2 record entering their regular season finale at Searsport. Allen surpassed the 1000 point mark in a win over Bucksport earlier this season. She is fourth on the all time Central girls basketball scoring list. Jenny Rollins is the all time leader with 1588. Followed by Brianna Skolfield at 1162, Hannah Pray is third at 1142 (39 ahead of Allen).

Sydney’s mother Sue Ann Allen was a standout player at Husson from 1993-1997. Sue surpassed the 1000 point mark while with the Eagles. She was inducted into the Husson hall of fame in 2009.

Allen joins Emily Wheaton as commitments to join Kissy Walker’s Eagles squad. Wheaton a senior at Presque Isle, surpassed the 1000 point mark earlier this season.
