Hermon the class B boys favorite

February 12, 2018

The Hermon Hawks boys basketball team was the clear favorite in the preseason. They did nothing during the regular season to change those predictions entering the Maine Principals’ Association class B tournament.

The Hawks went 18-0 and had only three wins decided by under 10 points.

Presque Isle comes in as the number three seed and will play the winner of the Ellsworth/Orono prelim game. The Wildcats split with Ellsworth during the regular season.

MCI (9-9) will travel to Washington Academy (13-5) in a prelim game on Wednesday. The Huskies have lost four of their last five games, while the Raiders enter the tournament on a five game winning streak. The winner will take on MDI in a quarterfinal game.

Winslow and Oceanside will meet in a quarterfinal contest. The teams split in the regular season, both winning on their home court. Click here for the class B boys schedule.
