Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 250 past athlete of the week winners.
This week, we had three Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations. Kobe Rogerson helped Brewer start the season with two wins. Rogerson joins Kyle Alexander (12-18-11), Matt Pushard (6-15-15),Logan Rogerson (10-11-15), and Trey Wood (9-25-16) as student/athletes from Brewer high school that have earned athlete of the week honors.
Roadrunner Taxi male athlete of the week
Kobe Rogerson- Brewer- baseball- had three hits, two runs scored, three RBI, including an inside the park homer run, and pitched a perfect seventh inning with two strikeouts in 10-3 win over Gardiner. Had two hits, including a double, three runs scored, and two RBI in 12-2 win over Winslow.
Runner up
Alex Applebee- Hermon- baseball- had two hits with the bat and allowed only three hits to pick up the pitching win in 8-2 victory over Central.
Other nominations
Uriah Thongsophaphone- Oceanside – baseball- hit a two run double to tie the game and scored the game winning run in 8-7 walk-off win over Maranacook.
