Tyler Parke is named Roadrunner Taxi male athlete of the week

Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 259 past athlete of the week winners. 

This week, we had four Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations. Tyler Parke hit a walk off grand slam to lift Bangor to a regional championship win over Oxford Hills. Parke also had two RBI in the Rams state championship win over Gorham. Parke joins Allie Boulier (11-4-12), Grace MacLean (10-28-12), Justin Courtney (5-19-13), and Trevor DeLaite (2) (6-20-16) as student/athletes from Bangor high school to earn athlete of the week honors.

Roadrunner Taxi male athlete of the week

Tyler Parke- Bangor- baseball- hit a walk off grand slam in 5-1 win over Oxford Hills in class A regional final. Had a triple and two RBI in 10-6 class A state title win over Gorham.

Runner up

Josiah Cyr- Brewer- baseball- had walk off hit in 3-2 win over Wells in class B state championship game.

Other nominations

Jared Harvey- Fort Fairfield- baseball- pitched a complete five hitter with nine strikeouts plus had a two run triple in 4-3 class D regional final win over Bangor Christian.

Jacob Munroe- Bangor – baseball- had two hits, including a double and three RBI in 10-6 class A state title win over Gorham.
