Big second half sends Central boys soccer to win over Dexter: Postgame interviews included

The Central Red Devils scored four second half goals and rolled to a 6-1 win over Dexter in a class C boys soccer game on Saturday morning at Dexter.

Yosef Worster put in two goals, including getting things started with 35:22 remaining in the first half. With players from both teams scrambling, Worster quickly tapped the ball into the goal to give the Red Devils a 1-0 lead.

Dexter evened up the score when JJ Devine connected off a beautiful pass from Trevor Richards with 26:16 left in the half. Noah Kepple gave the Red Devils their lead back with 6:25 left in the half.

With the game being separated by only one goal at the half, Central stepped up their game to another level once the second half started.

Alfie Griffin, Alex Hewitt, Worster, and Cameron Doak each put in a goal in the second half. Hewitt and Jack Miller each had an assist. Bryce Burns had three saves on 10 shots for the Red Devils. Central (9-2-1) will host Mattanawcook on Friday, October 12th.

Brett Kusnierz had nine saves on 23 shots for the Tigers.Dexter (3-7) will travel to Orono on Wednesday.
