Elijah Allen named Roadrunner Taxi male athlete of the week

Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 272 past athlete of the week winners. 

This week, we had nine Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations. Elijah Allen scores five goals this week in two games, including the only goal to lead Mount View soccer to a prelim win. Allen and the Mustangs enter their quarterfinal game this week with a 15-0 record. Allen joins Stephen Davis (9-8-13) and Mike Hustus (10-25-15) as student/athletes from Mount View high school that have earned athlete of the week honors.

Roadrunner Taxi male athlete of the week

Elijah Allen – Mount View- soccer – scored four goals and had an assist in the first half of the 13-1 win over Foxcroft Academy to complete the unbeaten regular season. Scored only goal in 1-0 class B prelim win over Medomak Valley.
Runner up

Matthew Spooner- Foxcroft- football- -threw for 183 yards and three touchdowns on 12-21 passing in 28-7 win over Dexter.

Other nominations

Cassidy Pound – Mount View- soccer – scored two goals and had two assists in the first half of the 13 to 1 win over Foxcroft Academy to complete the unbeaten regular season.

Darrett Fowler – Mount View- soccer – scored two goals and had an assist in the first half of the 13 to 1 win over Foxcroft Academy to complete the unbeaten regular season.

Matt Overlock – Mount View- soccer scored two goals and had an assist in the 13 to 1 win over Foxcroft Academy to complete the unbeaten regular season.

Nathan Richards- Dexter- soccer – scored one goal and had three assists in 5-1 prelim win over Calais.

Alex Owens – Lawrence- Soccer- recorded a hat trick in 5-4 win over Nokomis.

Alex Higgins – Lawrence- football- scored three touchdowns in 34-14 win over Messalosnkee.

Damon Warren – Sumner- soccer- the junior broke single season record with 50+ goals for this season. Warren and the Tigers play Lee Academy in playoff game on Tuesday.
