Raeanah Reynolds earns Charles Inn female athlete of the week

Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 283 past athlete of the week winners.

This week, we had eight Rowell’s Garage female athlete of the week nominations. The Washington Academy girls basketball team won two games this week. It was the first wind for the Raiders in the last two season. Freshman Raeanah Reynolds averaged 20.5 points and five 3 pointers in the two games during the week for the Raiders. Reynolds is the fifth overall and second female student/athlete from Washington Academy to earn athlete of the week honors. She joins Tehon Fox (9-23-12), Gage Feeney (7) (5-16-15), Kassidy Seeley (5-10-14), and Austin Seavey (2) (12-14-14)

Raeanah Reynolds- Washington Academy- Basketball- the freshman scored 14 points (4 three pointers) in 50-38 win over Caribou. She put in 27 points (6 three pointers) including a half court buzzer beater in 58-48 win over Orono, leading the Raiders to there first two wins in the last two seasons.

Jaydin Anderson – Machias – Basketball- the 8th grader scored 13 pts and had 21 rebounds in loss to Woodland.

Other nominations

Avery Herrick- Dexter – Basketball- Recorded 20 points, seven rebounds, and three assists in 58-21 win over Bucksport. Recorded seven points, eight rebounds, four assists, and three steals in 39-24 win over Penquis. Recorded 13 points, five rebounds, five steals, and four assists in 42-25 win over Schenck. 

Peyton Grant- Dexter- Basketball- recorded 15 points (3 three pointers), four steals, and two assists in 58-21 win over Bucksport. Scored 12 points (4 three pointers) in 39-24 win over Penquis. Had 16 points and four steals in 42-25 win over Schenck. 

Lexi Ireland- PVHS- Basketball- had 22 points and 10 rebounds in 49-19 win over Greenville.

Laney Harding- PVHS- Basketball- scored 15 points (5 three pointers) all in first half in 49-19 win over Greenville.

Sadie Gatling- Waterville – Basketball- scored 20 points and pulled down six rebounds in 53-35 win over MCI. Scored 15 points in 49-48 win over Oceanside. 

Makenzie Beaudry- Foxcroft- Basketball- had 16 points and 15 rebounds in 42-37 loss to John Bapst.
